About LuxPlan
A planning tool, not an electrical design.
Why this exists
Search "how many recessed lights for a 12x12 room" and you get a hundred pages that answer with a rule of thumb, and a handful of calculators that make you fill in a form to get one number back. None of them tells you the thing you actually need, which is where the lights go.
LuxPlan runs the real calculation for every common room size and type, and draws the ceiling plan. The number is the easy part.
What it is not
It is not an electrical design and it is not a substitute for an electrician. It sizes an ambient lighting layer under ordinary assumptions. Wiring, circuits, IP ratings in bathrooms, fire-rated fittings and anything to do with your local code are all out of scope and genuinely matter.
Who runs it
Built by Amit Sharma in Auckland, New Zealand, as one of a family of free data tools at amit.marketing.
How it is funded
Google AdSense. No lighting manufacturer or retailer pays for placement here, and no fixture brand is recommended anywhere on the site.
